OWNER

Nick Bognar

Nick Bognar grew up in the kitchen at his family’s restaurant, Nippon Tei, before leaving St. Louis to sharpen his skills in acclaimed kitchens around the country. He eventually returned to take the helm at Nippon Tei, where his work earned his first James Beard semifinalist nomination and laid the groundwork for opening iNDO in 2019. What started here has since grown into Sado, Pavilion, and Yai Thai Cowboy.

Today, iNDO enters its next chapter under Chef de Cuisine Hana Chung, who leads the kitchen and continues to evolve the restaurant’s original spirit of curiosity, experimentation, and pushing things forward.

"At indo, especially, you don't really know what's going on.

You just know that the

food is great

– and your inner Asian fat kid is happy."
